Product Descriptions

From the Adrienne Roy Color Art CollectionBatman #504 Published by DC COMICS - February 1994 Original Color Guide - Interior Page ~ 8" x 10. 5" You are viewing on a ONE OF A KIND piece of original DC production art the final color guide for page #3 of Batman #504 Instead of making her notes directly on the page, colorist Adrienne Roy used an acetate overlay, leaving the original piece code free What is a color guide?Color guides were instrumental in the production of comics before computers. The sheets were printed with the line art and then given to colorist to complete with watercolors or inks. Colorists not only brought each page to life with their artistry, but they were also responsible for making sure that they properly coded each part of the page. The codes YRB indicate the different percentages of Yellow, Red and Blue that would be needed to produce the desired colors when printed. Often discarded as worthless after the production of the comic similar to animation cells - which can now be worth hundreds to thousands of dollars , original production art including color guides and 3Ms have increased in value due to their scarcity Only one final color guide exists for each comic book This is an emerging market and we are offering these items at a very affordable price In today's comic marketplace, these original color guides can cost up to 500 per page Invest in these amazing one of a kind items today and own a piece of comic history This particular piece of production art has been locked away in our vault for almost 20 years It has never been offer for auction You will not find this item anywhere else - only 1 final was created Do not let this amazing art get away PLEASE NOTE: This an original item that was used in the production of the comic and was handled significantly. Item may show signs of wear including small tears, creases, discoloration, folds and/or rippling due to watercolors. There may also be tape or staple holes in the page.
